Rootcode welcomes Mangala Perera as its Chief Operating Officer

Rootcode recently announced the appointment of Mangala Perera as its new Chief Operating Officer for its global business operations. Perera brings more than 23 years of leadership and industry experience, perfectly complementing Rootcodeโ€™s significant growth and expansion in the past months.

In a career spanning over two decades, Perera rose through the ranks to become the Vice President of Software Operations at IFS, taking charge of the Research & Development unit of Sri Lanka and leading 700+ professionals. During his tenure, he led a series of transformational growth initiatives across the organisation and was a significant pillar of transforming IFS into one of the largest multinational enterprise software companies.

Mangala Perera is also an active General Council member of Sri Lanka Association for Software Services Companies (SLASSCOM) โ€“ leading several activities that facilitate innovation, trade and business, education, and employment for the Sri Lankan IT and knowledge industry. Furthermore, he is a board member of the Center for IT Education Services (CITES) at the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Armed with a bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science from the University of Colombo, he also holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and Services from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Perera is also known to be a marathon runner and has participated in competitions around the world, including the prestigious Gรถteborgsvarvet โ€“ which is an annual half-marathon running competition held in Sweden.
