A team from the International Monetary Fund will be in Sri Lanka from September 10 to 23 for the 7th review of its program, Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou said in a statement. The 2026 Article IV Consultations will also be held at the same time.

โ€œThe IMF team will communicate its findings at the end of the visit,โ€ the statement said. Sri Lanka has two reviews remaining in the program and the budget is due in November.

The 2026 Article IV Consultation will provide a broader assessment of Sri Lankaโ€™s economic policies and outlook alongside the programme-specific review under the EFF.

The IMFโ€™s country programme currently reflects an outstanding financial commitment of about SDR 1.76 billion as of March 31, 2026.
