Peopleโ€™s Bank shines at Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2026

Peopleโ€™s Bank has once again been recognised as one of Sri Lankaโ€™s outstanding women-friendly workplaces at the Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2026, held recently at The Grand Maitland.

This marks the sixth consecutive year that Peopleโ€™s Bank has received this prestigious recognition, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to fostering gender equality, diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
The recognition reflects the Bankโ€™s continued focus on best practices in promoting gender inclusion, leadership development and mentorship opportunities, while creating a safe, supportive and inclusive working environment. With women comprising over 60% of its workforce, Peopleโ€™s Bank continues to empower and support women employees across all areas of banking.

The achievement further reinforces Peopleโ€™s Bankโ€™s position as a leading organisation committed to driving positive change and fostering a more inclusive and equitable corporate culture in Sri Lanka.

Representing Peopleโ€™s Bank at the award ceremony were Nilmini Premalal, Deputy General Manager Finance and Acting Deputy General Manager Strategic Planning, Performance Management & Research; Manjula Dissanayake, Deputy General Manager Human Resources; Aruni Liyanagunawardena, Deputy General Manager Channel Management; Sadana Perera, Deputy General Manager Corporate Banking; Amalka Ranasinghe, Assistant General Manager Human Resources and D.D.K. Hettiarachchi, Chief Manager Human Resources, together with their team.

Since its inception in 2021, the Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards have emerged as one of Sri Lankaโ€™s leading platforms recognising organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to gender equality and womenโ€™s empowerment in the workplace. The awards provide a platform for organisations to showcase their efforts in creating inclusive, empowering and progressive work environments for women.
