Demonstrating its continuous commitment to collecting plastic and tackling marine plastic pollution, Hemas FMCG joined hands with Clean Ocean Force for an extensive beach cleanup on 22nd July 2023, at Crow Island Beach, with the enthusiastic participation of its employees, interns from the MAS-Dialog-Hemas Summer Interns Programme, Rotaract Club of Colombo Regent and Universal College of Lanka. A total of 260kg of plastic was collected through the day-long initiative. The event also provided a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to educate themselves on environmental conservation and responsible plastic disposal. The beach clean-up project aims to keep the coastline clean through community-led conservation. This partnership with Clean Ocean Force is one of several large-scale environmental projects planned by the Group to ensure the responsible disposal of plastic waste.
